With the return of Michael Schumacher to Formula One in 2010, artist Gary Pidgeon decided there would be interest in owning a Schumacher portrait from his first year with Ferrari. Especially if the original painting was created in 1996 -- the year Schuey switched from the highly-successful Benetton team, where he had just won two World Championships, to Scuderia Ferrari, a team which had last won the Drivers' Championship with Jody Scheckter in 1979. The rest is history with Schumacher and Ferrari becoming the winningest combination in F1 history.
This beautiful acrylic painting shows Schumacher as he helped develop the then-unreliaible Italian racing car into the world-class winner that it became with himself and teammate Rubens Barrichello at the wheel.
Artist Gary Pidgeon created this acrylic work during the 1996 F1 season and has kept it in his private collection to this day. Gary, again, was persuaded to share it with the public and offer a small number of giclees to the world's motorsports enthusiasts. Owen Art Studios is proud to represent the artist with this outstanding work of historic Ferrari art.
