"Iceman" Kimi Raikkonen on his way to becoming the new World Drivers' Champion, blasts his Ferrari F1 car through a downhill turn with Lewis Hamilton (McLaren Mercedes), and Ferrari teammate Felipe Massa hot on his trail. This is a beautiful and colorful scene depicting the exciting and very close 2007 season.

Raikkonen of Finland switched from McLaren to Ferrari in 2007. He became the highest paid driver in the sport, secured his first Formula One World Drivers' Championship, and beat McLaren drivers Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso by one point.

Raikkonen is very calm, cool and calculating in his race strategy – prompting the nickname "Iceman." His other nicknames include Kimppa, Raikka and the Kimster (respectfully used by his mechanics). Raikkonen started the 2007 season in Australia by taking pole position, setting the fastest lap, and becoming the first driver since Nigel Mansell to win his first Grand Prix with Ferrari.

Raikkonen took the 2007 Formula One Drivers' Championship with victory at the Brazilian Grand Prix in an incident-packed race. Massa had taken pole, followed by Hamilton, Raikkonen and Alonso. At the start of the race, Raikkonen passed Hamilton on the outside and lined up behind Massa. Alonso shortly afterwards passed Hamilton, who fell progressively down the order. Massa, who was already eliminated from contention for the Driver's Championship in the Japanese Grand Prix, yielded the lead to Raikkonen at the second round of pit stops. Raikkonen went on to take the win, which handed him the championship by a single point from Hamilton and Alonso. Championship leader Hamilton eventually finished the race in seventh place, while defending champion Alonso managed third. The 2007 F1 season was the kind that F1 CEO Bernie Ecclestone dreams about.

While Raikkonen had only one point more than Alonso and Hamilton at the end of the season, he had the most victories – six compared to four by each McLaren driver.
